04.02.12 The second phase of the state's transformation of Medicaid program began Sunday, and the next phase will involve Medicaid recipients in Central Louisiana.
The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals launched the second phase of the Bayou Health program in Geographic Service Area B on Sunday. GSA B is made up of the Acadiana, Capital Area and South-Central Louisiana regions.
Bayou Health "is the state's new approach to coordinating care for nearly 900,000 Medicaid and LaCHIP recipients. Its focus is on improved access to quality health care and better health outcomes for recipients," a DHH news release said.
