03.29.12 The Louisiana Public Health Institute announced this week that $5.5 million has been made available to qualifying nonprofit health service providers over a three-year grant period.

The money is being made available through the New Orleans Charitable Health Fund and is intended to support integrated behavioral health, primary health care and referrals to social services efforts starting in July, according to the LPHI news release.

The nonprofits providing these services would also have to be located in the Greater New Orleans area, including Jefferson, Plaquemines and St.Bernard parishes.

Grant applications are due May 18 and notification of the grant award will be sent out June 22.
