02.27.12 St. Francis Medical Center will build a $15 million Community Health Center on Tower Drive in Monroe, moving the existing facility from its leased location on Oliver Road.

The hospital bought a 12-acre tract on the corner of Tower and Fulton, the relatively new street that funnels traffic to Walmart, for about $2.8 million.

"We needed room to grow, and this is a prime corridor and a central location," said St. Francis Chief Executive Louis Bremer. "This space gives us the long-term ability to do a lot more as health care evolves."
