11.14.11 The Jindal administration has yet to approve a $185 million Medicaid claims-processing contract with CNSI more than four months after selection of the firm sparked protests.

The state Department of Health and Hospitals and CNSI, the computer business-processing firm based in Gaithersburg, Md., where DHH secretary Bruce Greenstein once worked, have negotiated a contract.

But the state will not sign the contract until it gets approval from the federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, said DHH Undersecretary Jerry Phillips. CMS pays 90 percent of the costs.
