District II

Dear District II Physicians:

Not only am I honored to have the opportunity to serve as your District II Councilor on the Louisiana State Medical Society Board of Governors, I have also been elected to chair its Board of Councilors! I promise to make every effort serve you well.

For those of you with whom I haven’t had a chance to become acquainted, I would like to introduce myself. I have been a practicing, out-patient pediatrician in the Jefferson and River Parish areas for over 20 years. My involvement in organized medicine began when "outside" forces began impacting the care of my patients. I realized that as a single physician my lone "voice" would not be heard. However, I came to recognize that the Louisiana State Medical Society provides a unified "voice" for physicians which is so loud it cannot be easily ignored!

As your councilor, I am your "voice "on the LSMS board and am dedicated to presenting your viewpoints and concerns to the LSMS leadership. The Louisiana State Medical Society is your society. The reason for its existence is to be the "voice" for you, the practicing physician who is busy providing health care for the citizens of Louisiana. As your District II Councilor, I will make every effort to keep you informed of the actions that LSMS perform on the behalf of you and your patients by providing quarterly reports and posting issues that affect your practice as they develop.

I, and the LSMS leadership, welcome any suggestions about ways which may allow us to better serve you. Thank you for the privilege to represent you.
