The Journal of the Louisiana State Medical Society is a scientific, peer-reviewed publication devoted to the science of medicine and surgery and to serve as a means of communication among the members of the Louisiana State Medical Society.

Capsules is a newsletter published bimonthly for the members of the Louisiana State Medical Society, and is intended to serve as an impartial forum for the information affecting physicians in Louisiana.

The LSMS Dept. of Public Affairs serves as the communications arm of the LSMS, providing publications and other informational resources, including the LSMS website, the Journal of the Louisiana State Medical Society, and Capsules newsletter, for and on behalf of the Society's members.
